About Irodori

Irodori is a modern color tool site that runs everything in your browser. It brings East Asian traditional color systems (JP/CN/KR/VN) together with modern perceptually uniform color spaces like OKLCH, and treats WCAG accessibility as a first-class citizen.

01

What we build

Irodori puts East Asian traditional color systems and modern perceptually uniform color spaces on the same desk. You can pull a color out of a photo, convert it to OKLCH, check it against WCAG, and read its traditional name — all without the page ever talking to a server.

02

The toolkit

Twenty-two color tools and six design-system palettes run entirely in your browser: conversion, contrast, color-vision simulation, palette generation, gradient and mesh generation, ΔE comparison, scale builders, RAL mapping and bulk conversion. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is queued, no account is required for any of it.

03

Traditional colors

Sixty-six traditional colors from Japan, China, Korea and Vietnam sit alongside the modern library. Names are kept in their original script — 藍, 群青, 송화, thủy — because a translated color name is no longer the color name. Values are reviewed with cultural consultants and may still be corrected.

04

Accessibility is a feature, not a setting

Contrast checking, color-vision simulation and collision audits sit next to the generators, not behind them. A palette that passes ΔE checks can still be unusable for a deuteranopic reader, so we show both numbers side by side.

05

How it is built

Astro renders every page to static HTML at build time. The color engine is plain TypeScript running in the browser; Cloudflare Pages Functions add only the optional account, share and API endpoints. No client-side framework, no analytics, no third-party scripts or fonts.

06

Who it is for

Designers picking a palette, developers writing color tokens, accessibility reviewers checking a shipped UI, and anyone who wants to know what a traditional color actually looks like on screen.
